Mr. Mathur serves as national defense counsel for various products manufacturers and directs litigation efforts on behalf of his clients. Mr. Mathur previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. In that role, he prosecuted many cases within the criminal division, specializing in firearms, narcotics, and violent crimes. Mr. Mathur has prosecuted federal jury trials including murder and firearms offenses.
Prior to that, Mr. Mathur served as an Assistant State’s Attorney. In that role, he prosecuted hundreds of cases, including murder, armed robbery, and domestic violence. Mr. Mathur led the felony review unit, in which he approved or denied felony charges based on the evidence.
Mr. Mathur has civil enforcement experience with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. With the SEC, Mr. Mathur worked on investigations involving major banks and financial institutions. With FINRA, he investigated Insider Trading activities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mathur has prided himself on zealous advocacy while maintaining respect for judges, court personnel, opposing counsel, and individuals impacted by court proceedings.
Mr. Mathur is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association.
